Greetings and salutations friends! It is blog time. So let us get to it.
Last Thursday came the bombshell revelation that Todrick has a sister. It was news that shook this web site to the core. Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration, and by slight, I mean total. Some of you may have read Todrick’s character profile, but I doubt many remembered the tidbit that Todrick is an orphan. If that’s the case though, how can he have a sister? Well, the EASY answer is that the Funnies aren’t official Age of Animus canon. They were always meant to be an alternate reality, in the same vein of the shorts at the end of each episode of Record of Lodoss War, Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. With time, the Funnies have become the primary focus of the site, but this view still holds true to me.
While that’s the easy answer, the canon answer is that while Todrick is an orphan, he clearly was raised by SOMEBODY. It turns out that that somebody, a kindly widow bird from Verdant, had a daughter named Pearl. So when Todrick says he’s going to see his sister, he means he’s going to see his adoptive sister.
Of course, the real reason is that I have a sister and it was her birthday on Thursday. I wanted to do a birthday strip for her which continued the running gag of Todrick getting caked. I wanted it to feature somebody’s sister and the easiest way to make it make sense that Todrick would be visiting this sister on her birthday was to have this sister be Todrick’s. So again, happy birthday to my sister!
To quench my D&D thirst, I decided to re-download Dungeons & Dragons Online. I played a fair bit a couple of years back and really enjoyed the game, I just found leveling up to be too long. I knew this going back in, but decided to try it again anyway. It turns out that it’s now possible to unlock the ability to start as a high level character via some financial transaction or another. I’ll have to look into it, because there’s a lot of content to play through.
I had back to back gaming nights on Friday and Saturday, which is my definition of a great weekend. Both nights featured plays of Dark Gothic. I have over twenty plays under my belt and I still really enjoy it. It’ll definitely be worth adding the expansions to my collection. With all the games out there, I’ve decided I should be more choosy when it comes to expansions. I’d rather try a new game then buy an expansion to a game I never play. That’s why, while I really like the Krosmaster system, I haven’t bought any of the newer figures (well that and the fact they went with blind packaging).
Okay, that’s all for this week. Have a good seven all and we’ll do this again next Monday. Carja V.
