By the power of the Moon, I will stop you…from leaving this page without checking out this week’s mash-up!

The year of Mina continues with us revisiting the Sailor Moon theme. Koan was a member of the Black Moon Clan, the main villains of season 2 of the anime. She’s dressed in purple which was enough for me to choose her for this piece. The original pose I was going for was to have Mina’s right foot in front of the left, but it wasn’t working out, so I settled for this plain standing pose instead.

That’s all for this week. A new mash-up is revealed next Wednesday! Come back to see!

It’s still Friday so I can say I posted this on time!

Here’s Chae as the big bad of the first season of Sailor Moon: Queen Beryl.

That’s all for this set. It turned out to be a very good revisiting. Next week, we delve into a not-so-final fantasy. As it’s not a flashback, it should go up on Wednesday.

Ahoy! It be Friday mateys and time for a mash-up! YARRR! Why be I talkin’ like an ol’ shiphand? Why because it’s SAILOR Moon time! Heheh.

The original set of Sailor Moon mash-ups covered the heroes of the series and I covered all the best-known characters from the first couple of seasons. Now, it’s time for the villains to shine! Well two of them anyway. This week, we have Skitter as Kunzite, one of the Four Kings of Heaven. I have to say, I really like how this one turned out. I think it’s the hair. The hair colouring on this set has worked out nicely.

That’s all for this week. Chae closes out the theme next week. Have a good weekend!

Hey! It’s Friday and I have the day off so I’m posting…in the middle of the afternoon! Crazy huh?

Here’s Barnaby as Sailor Chibi Moon. The idea behind this mash-up is so simple: Take my largest character and dress him up as the smallest character (that isn’t a cat). Whereas I chose to have Todrick be embarrassed in dressing up as Sailor Mercury, Barnaby is embracing being Chibi Moon.

Here’s a comparison to the original. When I look back at the original set, this is the piece that I felt most needed a remake. If taken by themselves, the head was “fine” and the body was “okay”, but put them together and oh boy. The scale was off. Part of the challenge of the Animus characters is that their heads are so large (like the Peanuts gang). Here, Barnaby’s head was just too small. I did a much better job (as you’d expect) in the remake.

That’s all for the Sailor Moon flashbacks. We have the two new pieces with Skitter and Chae coming up next. Skitter will be first next Friday. See you then!

Hey there Mash-up fans! It’s that time of the week again!

Here’s Cyran as the Moonlight Knight. That was such a weird part of the story.

Here’s a comparison to the original piece. The little things make a difference. Like changing which arm is extended. I couldn’t make it work the same way as before. I can’t figure out why.

That’s all for this week!
