Hey there Mash-up Fans! I’m feeling a little under the weather today but I just finished colouring this week’s mash-up which is good. Let’s get to the good stuff!
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, Final Fantasy IX is my favorite of the series. But I really don’t remember Lani. I needed another character to draw and I decided I liked her look the best. So the Year of Mina continues with…Lani!

Heeeeeey! It’s Friday and time for another mash-up! Let’s get to it!
So Blank…He’s a temporary player character and my most lasting memory of him was he turned to stone in a cut scene. I needed another FFIX character and I chose him. That’s all there is to say really.
Here’s Skitter as Blank. I’m not sure how he sees anything. This is not my favorite picture. It is what it is. It’s a shame to end on a weak note.
And with that, the Final Fantasy IX theme comes to a close. I don’t know what comes next, but I better figure it out soon. I have to start drawing this weekend. Have a good weekend everybody!

Queen Brahne is Garnet’s adopted mother. She’s nominally a villain, but really she’s just a misguided spoiled queen who gets manipulated into doing the real villain’s bidding.
Here’s Chae as Brahne. I can’t say I’m in love with this piece. I just did it and I’m moving on.

Kuja is the main villain in Final Fantasy IX. He manipulates everybody in order to advance his agenda to become the most powerful person in the world. He also likes the finer things in life. Who can blame him for that?
Only Red Rich is fancy enough to play Kuja, even though he’s a villain. Since it’s just a play, Rich will do it. I went with his look from Dissidia Final Fantasy NT because at least I could find a good full body picture to base myself on. It’s close enough to how he looks in the original game.
Here’s the comparison with the original piece. He got the full wig this time around. He doesn’t seem to have as big of a paunch either! Overall a huge improvement!

Hi there! 10 years of Age of Animus! It’s a pretty big milestone for me! I’ll be talking more about that on Monday. For now, let’s get to the good stuff: A flashback!
General Beatrix the top general and most trusted warrior in Alexandria. She kicks serious butt!
Here’s Sass returning as General Beatrix. As Beatrix is not one of the main playable characters for the game, she doesn’t have a promo picture like they do. All pictures I found of her were from in-game cut scenes. I chose to go with an alternate piece of art to base myself on. I’m really digging this one.
Here’s a comparison to the original. The original was meant to show Beatrix as she holds a door open in the final cut-scene of Final Fantasy IX. Sass comes out very spindly in that piece. This new one is leagues better though the costume isn’t game-accurate.
