Let’s pretend it’s still Friday for the next ten minutes and I’m not posting this late. Truth be told, I was wiped after working on the apartment yesterday and I never came back to the house to post.

Cye of Torrent was also voiced by Michael Donovan, this time affecting a British accent. Not surprisingly, Sage and Cye were my two favorites..

Here’s Red Rich in the Torrent armor, looking so very stoic. The boots are proving to be the toughest part of these.

Here’s a comparison to the original. The ink work was really sloppy in the original and the dimensions are off but it’s otherwise okay. The new piece obviously fits better. Even the subtle shading I’m doing makes a big difference I think.

That’s all for this week. Another flashback next Friday.

Hey! It’s Friday! Taking a break from packing up the house to post a little flashback.

Sage of Halo was the character that got me to start watching Ronin Warriors. Why? Because Michael Donovan dubbed him. Michael Donovan, of course, was the English dub voice for Ryoga Hibiki, my favorite character of all time. I heard his voice and had to watch more and then I got hooked on the story.

Here we have Sass as Sage.

Here’s the comparison to the original. New pose, and I think it turned out really well.

Hey there readers! As I take a quick break from working on stuff at home, it’s time for a flashback!

The Ancient is the mysterious monk who guides the Ronin Warriors in their fight against the evil Dynasty.

You never get to see the Ancient’s eyes, so who better than Big Oonch to play him? The Oonchient, was one of my better renamings. This piece was the quickest to draw so far for this set. I expect that won’t really change going through the rest.

Here’s the comparison to the original piece. There are those odd dimensions, overlong arms and nonexistent legs. Sticking to the rules makes for much better pieces really.

That’s all for this week. Another flashback hits next Friday!

Hey! It’s Sorry About That Saturday! Because I totally spaced on posting yesterday. I’ve got some stuff going on that I’ll talk more about in a future blog post.

So I decided to tackle the Ronin Warriors again. The originals were just alright at the time and I even wrote in the original post that I didn’t think I did a good enough job adapting the armor designs to fit my characters so they all had their proportions changed. I’m hoping I did a better job this time around. I know the pictures will look sharper. I’m not adding any of my traditional shading to the pictures. Some light cell shading is all I can manage right now. The armors are detailed enough you may want to click on the picture to see a closeup (if you like that kind of thing). Last thing, I’m sticking with the English dub names. And with that, let’s get started.

Here we have Zoë in the Wildfire armor. While she’s small, Zoë’s proportions fit the armor better than others. The longer legs help.

And to complete the flashback, let’s compare the new piece to the original which was done seven years ago. Right off the bat, I went with a simpler pose. Her face is much more recognizable with the helmet on now.

That’s it for this week. Next Friday, we’ll revisit the Armor of Halo. Have a good weekend!
