Hey there! I’m writing this on Thursday so I don’t forget to post it on Friday. That’s forward thinking!

Kento of Hard Rock is the barista at a cafe that celebrates rock and roll. Okay, so that’s not quite true. His family does in fact own a restaurant but I don’t believe it has any rock and roll theming.

Here we have Barnaby as the hard-hitting if somewhat dimmer-witted Kento. I can’t say I really like this piece. It’s as much as I could muster for this, my least favorite of all the armor designs. Shame, since it’s my favorite colour.

Here’s the comparison to the original. This was one of the better ones in the originals ironically. Barnaby’s proportions lent themselves better to wearing the Ronin armor.

That’s it for this week. A new mash-up comes atcha next Friday!

Good Wednesday folks! Time for a mash-up!

Where there is Light, there is also Dark. These were the two new elements introduced in Skylanders: Trap Team. Last week we saw Light, so this week, we counterbalance with Dark.

Here is Barnaby as Nightfall. This was a daunting picture to colour because of the jacket’s quasi-metallic effects but especially the hair tendrils which are supposed to be a little translucent. I think it turned out fairly well.

That’s all for this week. Come back next Wednesday for a look at another Skylander.

Hey! It’s Friday and I have the day off so I’m posting…in the middle of the afternoon! Crazy huh?

Here’s Barnaby as Sailor Chibi Moon. The idea behind this mash-up is so simple: Take my largest character and dress him up as the smallest character (that isn’t a cat). Whereas I chose to have Todrick be embarrassed in dressing up as Sailor Mercury, Barnaby is embracing being Chibi Moon.

Here’s a comparison to the original. When I look back at the original set, this is the piece that I felt most needed a remake. If taken by themselves, the head was “fine” and the body was “okay”, but put them together and oh boy. The scale was off. Part of the challenge of the Animus characters is that their heads are so large (like the Peanuts gang). Here, Barnaby’s head was just too small. I did a much better job (as you’d expect) in the remake.

That’s all for the Sailor Moon flashbacks. We have the two new pieces with Skitter and Chae coming up next. Skitter will be first next Friday. See you then!
