From the journal of Ardebast Raconteur:
Bree is a small western town directly to the south of the Everhigh Mountains. It serves as a hub point between the seaport of Vawsing and Verdant, the City in the Treetops. The town was built on a vast plain near the intersection of two rivers. There are little other geographical features of note.
As a hub, Bree’s commerce is centered around travelers passing through the town though its citizens strive to be more than just a rest stop. With precious few natural resources around, such work is hard. Over the years, the citizens of Bree have developed a practical outlook and frown on waste. For example, they see tinkers as … .
Outsiders are welcomed, they are the key to business after all, but regarded with a cautionary eye. I probably would have been run out of town my first time there if not for my friend Cyran. Over the years and after several visits, I have come to establish a good enough reputation…”for a vagabond”. The children, at least, enjoy listening to my stories. To be honest though, were it not for Cyran, I would probably keep my visits brief as I travel on my to and from Vawsing.
Carja’s Notes:
There are some names that just stick with you. Bree is one of those names. I once made a Squib NPC in Star Wars the Roleplaying Game named Breeinbillibee, or just Bree for short. My town in Cityville is called Bree. When I was thinking up of names for towns in Pelaria, naturally one of the first names I thought of was Bree. And all along it turns out I just stole the name from Lord of the Rings! 🙂
